About Jess

Jess is a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist with over two decades of experience with horses and is currently operating out of Harmonie Acres in Pleasanton and Bright Future Farms in Walnut Creek. Her training philosophy centers around the careful and harmonious development of horse and rider. She blends classical technique with athletic cross training, including trails, cavaletti, and light jumping, to develop well-rounded, happy horses.

At the age of 8, Jess began riding lessons with a dressage instructor but quickly found her way into jumping, eventing, and fox hunting in her hometown of Ligonier, PA. Although at the time she found dressage to be a snooze, it gave her an exceptionally strong foundation as a rider from an early age. She eventually found her way back to dressage as an adult and fell in love with the technicality and precision of the sport. She has since been developing and competing young horses to FEI and has had successful competition seasons in both California and Florida.

Jess has been lucky enough to work with many accomplished and influential individuals, including Kathy Connelly, Michael Poulin, Debbie McDonald, Lilo Fore, Jill Hardt, Katy Barglow, Christian Garweg, and many more. She finds great joy in the pursuit of continued education in our sport and in passing it down to her students.
